A Little Bit About Us
In 1899, Heatons began as a costume manufacturer in Leeds. Over successive generations, the business evolved – through wars, fashion booms, and technological innovations.
This building is the old Heatona House in Leeds that you can still see as a landmark building in the city. It was built especially for Heaton’s and Howard Heaton (Tim's father) worked here until 1980 as a Buyer, sourcing sheepskins from far and wide, learning about production processes and finally as Sales Director.
A story that spans generations
Heatons became Westmorland Sheepskins in 1981, drawing on decades of heritage and founded by Howard Heaton, Tim’s father. Now, with the launch of Heatons, the family name returns. Same values. Same warmth. New look.
