A classic slipper style for slipping on and off with ease. Made from dense British sheepskin with an EVA sole, these comfy house shoes are perfect for days working from home in both Winter and Summer months.

Name origin: With multiple meanings and originations, Idris is linked to intellectualism in Arabic and Leadership in Welsh.

Crafted by artisan hands for your comfort. Sheepskin is renowned globally as one of the best natural materials to keep you warm, dry and temperature regulated.

Please note: we are in the middle of a rebrand and this slipper may have a different label to the one shown.

Size and Fit

Sheepskin slippers should feel firm and snug when you first try them on. As you wear them, the wool beds down and moulds around your foot making them loosen up. We recommend buying your usual size with this in mind as you don’t want them to become too loose. If you usually wear a half size, we recommend sizing up to ensure you get the length in closed-toe and heel styles but you can size down with mules and sliders.

Fantastic company to buy from

Westmoreland is a great family run company to buy from. The slippers look great but are a present for my husband & he hasn't got them yet. But ive bought slippers shoes boots bags & many other products from this company & I can honestly say ive never been disappointed. Yes the slippers are expensive but they last me so much longer than cheaper ones & are so comfy. I guess you get what you pay for.

Love the style

Really like the style and quality of these. Would have liked them more if the soles were leather, though the existing material makes them quite light.

Exceptional slippers!

I bought these slippers for my husband as a replacement for a pair of very well worn and much loved Westmorland Bosse slippers. As he tends to tread down the backs of his slippers, I chose Idris slip on slippers this time, and he’s delighted with them. They’re very comfortable and look smart.

The Best

These are my third pair of Westmorland slippers, and every pair have been first class. I wear them everyday, everywhere! I never used to wear slippers, until I got my first pair as a gift almost 10 years ago. Now I couldn’t imagine life without them. Great in the summer, as they keep your feet cool and comfortable. Perfect for the winter as they keep you toasty and warm. The Idris is definitely my favourite style, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Idris - my new warmer weather chums

Having being given a present of a pair of 'Oskar' boot slippers, capable of keeping my feet warm in Artic conditions, for Christmas, I needed something a little cooler in the, hopefully, warmer months that are coming. I plumped for a pair of Idris slip on's. My wife bought me a pair in readiness for my May birthday. As always with Westmorlands, they arrived promptly. I was allowed to try them on for size and they fitted my size seven feet perfectly. I was pleased with my choice style wise. The leather exterior is a change from the usual suede finish. I also got a free Yorkshire Tea teabag to try. I am a great tea drinker and really do not like Yorkshire Tea , preferring the produced in Somerset lose Miles Tea. Nice try Yorkshire! My great niece will enjoy colouring in the colouring in postcard also supplied. It was like Christmas all over again when the Westmorland parcel arrived.

Like giving my feet a warm hug

First-time purchase of a pair of Idris sheepskin mule slippers from Westmorland and they're the best! Excellent quality, super comfy and WARM. Initially thought the size was too small but this was due to the thickness of the wool inside. After a short while my feet snuggled in to a great fit. I will definitely recommend. An added bit of nostalgia was the hand signed Christmas card from the employees which I found endearing. Thank you.

Since our lease ran out at our shop in Harrogate 2 years ago, we've been looking for a new (public-facing) home and it seems that we've found it. Not by coincidence by any means.

Around 12 years ago we spoke about family business and retail at the Mill with Robin Silver, Director at Salts Mill and brother of founder, Jonathon. The door to discussion was left open, and although Robin has since stepped down as Director, we re-instigated that conversation with the Salts team earlier this year.

And so... we’ve just opened a new shop at Salts Mill in Bradford and for the first time, it is exclusively our own brand (which is all very exciting) 😊 Situated on the second floor, near the ever popular Salts Diner, you can find us in the bright and airy gallery that houses Gold Lark jewellery and Rohan outdoor clothing.

Salt's Mill is best known for its connection to David Hockney and Yorkshire’s textile heritage under Sir Titus Salt, right in the heart of Saltaire – a UNESCO World Heritage village. It’s a beautiful giant of a space full of culture, art, heritage, antiques, design, food and independent shopping and it’s nice to now be a small part of that fabric and community.

We know you'll love it if you haven't visited already. You can tie a quiet mooch around with a coffee and a walk along the canal perhaps...
